Garden lighting will transform your outdoor landscape at night

Subtle garden lighting can completely transform your garden when the sun goes down. In the summer you can make the most of those warm evenings, and in the winter it can relieve the starkness of dark nights. Using various techniques such as spot lighting, moonlighting and grazing, plants can be highlighted, dining areas discreetly lit and pathways made safer.

The security of your home can also be enhanced with garden lighting. With the addition of timers the garden lighting system can become a valuable deterrent for intruders at those times when you are away from home.

We supply and install 12 volt halogen lighting from a number of well-known garden light manufacturers, including Ring, Megabay and Hunza. These garden lighting products are made from quality materials and use the same dichroic bulbs you will find in your kitchen or bathroom, with lamp wattages between 20 and 50 watts.

These outdoor lighting systems use bulbs around 5 - 10W maximum and give out little more than candle light. These lights create a warm, subtle glow in your garden, rather than the harsh "search light" glare of a usual halogen light. A basic 5-light system using the low cost Ring luminaires starts at around £250.00, including installation. We design every outdoor lighting system we install to our clients' specific requirements.

Although garden lighting is best installed after the garden has been landscaped, the safe low voltage cabling enables us to install a lighting system in your garden at any time.

Solar lighting is also becoming more popular, and in years to come may be on par with the 20W halogen lights we have today. At the moment, however, we would not recommend solar lighting as an effective way to light your garden.
