We have found that our clients often ask similar questions about our custom hot spas. To help you get a better idea of what is involved, we have listed the most freqently asked questions here, along with our answers.

If you still have a query that isn't answered here, or elsewhere on this website, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer any questions that you have.

How much does a custom hot spa cost?
A basic spa with a salt water chlorinator costs from around £9500, depending on the specification.

How much will a custom built spa cost to run cost to run?
Between 50-80 pence per day, depending on specification and usage.

How do I fill and drain the spa?
You can fill the spa with an ordinary garden hosepipe. The spa can be emptired by simply connecting a hosepipe to the drain valve.

Do I need to have water connected all the time?
No. Just fill the hot tub spa from a garden hose, and top up as required. We recommend changing the water at least once every 3 months.

Can you install a spa in a conservatory or elsewhere indoors?
Yes. Please call our sales line for more information.

What maintenance is required and how long does it take?
It should take about 20 minutes each week to check the salt water chlorinator and add salt as required. Cleaning the filter should take about half an hour, once a month. Emptying and refilling the pool takes around 2 hours altogether, and should be done at least once every 3 months.

How long does the filter last?
This depends on how often the hot tub spa is used, but usually around 6 - 12 months.

Do I have to use a salt water chlorinator?
No, you can use more traditional methods of sanitising your spa water (e.g. chlorine, bromine) if you so wish. This will save you money on the initial outlay, however the cost of chemicals soon adds up, and bathing in a salt water chlorinated pool is a much nicer experience.

If it is a salt water chlorinator, surely I am still bathing in chlorine?
The electrolysis produces a combination of the effective and safe sanitiser hypochlorous acid (HOCl). This very weak acid is the same sanitiser that would be produced by adding pool chlorine to the water. It activates other salts in the water to produce further sanitisers, without the potentially harmful chlorine compounds and noxious chemical effects commonly associated with manually-added spa chemicals. Because of this, the water is safe enough to empty out on to your garden when you need to change it.

Is a hot tub spa good for dealing with stress and tension?
All our hot tub spas are great for dealing with the stress and tension caused by today's hectic lifestyles. They give a deep, progressive, body and back relaxation massage which is a great method of removing stress and tension.

Do you have wet test facilities?
You are welcome to take a test soak before you make your decision to purchase. Why not take a dip in our display spa to help you make up your mind? Please call us to arrange an appointment.

Do you offer covers for the spa?
We are able to offer a fully fitted custom made cover in three different grades and seven different colours.

What sort of electrical requirements must I meet?
The required wiring in the UK for our spas is 6 gauge 3 wire with a ground, a 40amp breaker and RCD for a two-pump system. We are able to arrange the electrical connections for you, if required.
